I was browsing in a little boutique called Mountain Monkey Business in McCall, Idaho, last week while Carollen chatted with the owner. It is a colorful and well-ordered little shop and I felt prompted to do something useful with the camera that was hanging around my neck.
I have always found shooting in a store that has creative displays to be fun and if I happen to be walking around a town with my wife I know I’ll have plenty of opportunity to indulge in it.
These petunias awaited me just out the front door.
This is the way I intentionally framed the shot but perhaps a more conventional view would be to turn it on its side like this:
No, it stays vertical, no matter what the masses opine.
I really pumped up the contrast on both of these photos so they almost jump out and give you a black eye. When first viewing the photos from this effort, I overlooked the raw versions of these two, judging them to be inconsequential. I’m rather glad I took another look!
